A homemade clay mask is a simple and effective way to visibly improve your skin's appearance. This recipe combines natural ingredients with cleansing, astringent, and firming properties – without unnecessary additives, but with a noticeable effect after just one use.
How often to use?
For normal or combination skin, once or twice a week is enough. For sensitive skin, once every 10 days. Important: Clay masks should not be allowed to dry completely – it’s a good idea to spritz your face with hydrosol or water during the treatment.
Ingredient | Amount | Effect |
---|---|---|
Red Clay | 1 tablespoon | Gently cleanses, tightens pores, improves microcirculation |
Witch Hazel or Damask Rose Hydrosol | 1 teaspoon | Tones, tightens skin, has anti-inflammatory effects |
Aloe Extract (10x) or Water | 1 teaspoon | Moisturizes, soothes, relieves irritation |
Pomegranate Seed Oil or Prickly Pear Seed Oil | 3 drops | Firms, improves elasticity, has antioxidant effects |
Optional Lavender Essential Oil | 1 drop | Antibacterial, supports skin regeneration |
Homemade clay masks are a wonderful skincare ritual that you can adjust to your skin's needs. This version with red clay is especially effective if you’re looking for gentle yet effective support for cleansing and firming your skin.
If you choose green clay instead of red, the effects will be slightly different: the skin will be cleansed more deeply, excess sebum and imperfections will be reduced, and the antibacterial properties will help soothe inflammation. Green clay is therefore particularly beneficial for oily or combination skin, though the lifting and firming effects may be somewhat less intense compared to red clay. Additionally, green clay will not strengthen blood vessels.
