* natural component of essential oils, listed in INCI in accordance with the 7th amendment to the EU Cosmetic Directive
Application
Tea tree oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and young twigs of Melaleuca alternifolia. For centuries, the leaves have been valued for their healing and protective properties. Modern research has identified over 90 active compounds responsible for its broad therapeutic spectrum – particularly antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory effects.
Recommended for cosmetic formulations such as face and hand creams, body balms, serums, masks, shampoos, hair conditioners, deodorants, cleansing gels, and foot care products. An excellent addition to skincare and haircare preparations, especially for problematic, acne-prone, oily, or irritated skin.
When preparing formulations, add the oil to the oily phase (before introducing water-soluble substances). Suggested concentration: 0.5–3%.
