Description
INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis
Application
Obtained from the seeds of the sweet almond tree. Cold-pressed and unrefined. This method is relatively expensive, but cold-pressed oils retain more valuable active compounds, increasing the product’s effectiveness. It is considered one of the finest cosmetic oils and is widely used by cosmetic manufacturers as an active ingredient. Suitable for all skin types.
Excellent for massage and for caring for dry or irritated skin – absorbs well and does not leave a greasy residue.
Used for the prevention of stretch marks and for the treatment of psoriasis and eczema. Highly recommended for baby skin, especially atopic or irritated skin, due to its gentle and soothing properties.
Perfect as a base for post-bath moisturizing or as a daily moisturizer without leaving an oily film on the skin.
Has excellent saponification properties and is often used in makeup removers. Also ideal as an ingredient in shampoos and hair conditioners.
Recommended concentration in cosmetic formulations: up to 99 %.
Simple usage examples:
🔸 Apply as a lotion after bathing on damp skin to moisturize and hydrate.
🔸 Apply to areas prone to stretch marks (abdomen, breasts, thighs) to help prevent their formation.
🔸 Can replace a facial cream, especially when combined with a few drops of hyaluronic acid.
🔸 Combined with rose hydrosol – an ideal makeup remover, even for heavy makeup.
🔸 Added to hair conditioner, it nourishes and strengthens hair beautifully.
🔸 Massage into nails to nourish and strengthen them.
Effects / Benefits
Restores the lipid balance of the epidermis, providing optimal hydration and lubrication.
Exhibits occlusive properties, forming a protective barrier on the skin to prevent water loss, while its unsaturated fatty acids facilitate the penetration of active ingredients from cosmetic formulations, enhancing their efficacy.
Rich in tocopherols, particularly vitamin E – the “youth vitamin.” It rejuvenates the skin, hydrates, acts as an antioxidant, and neutralizes free radicals.
Almond oil also contains a wealth of minerals and vitamins such as A, D, and B vitamins, as well as squalane and phytosterols, which nourish, hydrate, and soften the skin.
