Description
INCI: Soluble Collagen, 2-Phenoxyethanol
Application
This collagen is non-denatured – the proteins remain as long amino acid chains with high molecular weight, enhancing their effectiveness.
Collagen is the key protein of connective tissue and contributes to a youthful appearance of the skin. After the age of 25, its natural production declines significantly, and by around 50, the skin’s collagen reserves are also depleted. This leads to loss of firmness, dryness, and the formation of wrinkles.
In cosmetics, collagen is used in a variety of anti-wrinkle, firming, and revitalizing formulations. It can also be added to finished cosmetic products.
Recommended usage concentration: 0.5–5%
Simple applications:
- After dilution with boiled and cooled water to a concentration of 5–20% (above 10% use with caution), as a facial mist, preferably before applying cream, oil, or lotion.
- As an additive to cream or body lotion bases (at 5% concentration, mixing temperature up to 34 °C).
- As an emulsion in combination with cosmetic oils, e.g., almond or jojoba oil.
Effects
Collagen deeply hydrates the skin, improves elasticity, and restores freshness, smoothness, and firmness.
Marine collagen has strong rejuvenating properties:
- deeply moisturizes the skin, improving elasticity and suppleness,
- forms a thin protective film to shield the skin from environmental stressors,
- leaves the skin soft and velvety,
- visibly smooths wrinkles and promotes optimal skin tissue regeneration in folds,
- helps reduce under-eye bags.
Storage
After opening, preferably store in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before use.
