Usage
The hydrolate is obtained by steam distillation of witch hazel leaves. Its valuable properties were originally discovered by Native Americans, who used witch hazel infusions to treat wounds.
Highly recommended for oily, acne-prone, and vascular skin.
Examples of use:
- Base for facial toners – especially for combination or acne-prone skin
- Soothing aftershave or post-hair removal treatment
- Compresses for swollen eyes – soak cotton pads in hydrolate and apply to eyes
- For mild burns – cooling witch hazel compresses
- Scalp tonic – particularly for dandruff; massage in after hair washing or spray onto dry hair
- Additive for day creams – helps regulate sebum production
Recommended concentration in cosmetics: 20–100%.
